“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven”
Mt.4:18-19. Nov. 30, 2023. Your gaze is on me, dear Lord.
O Lord my God, your gaze is always upon me; when I’m working or when I’m resting, when I’m sleeping or awake, you gaze on me longing that may I turn my attention to you and follow you. Give me the grace that like Saint Andrew, I may be aware you are gazing on me always and to follow you. Lord, I say yes to your calling and abandon myself to your holy and perfect will. My Jesus, I trust in you. Amen
Lk.21:14-15. Nov. 28, 2023. Not by my power, Lord, let me just trust you.
My Lord of perseverance, you promise that you would speak for me amid persecution. Help me to respond to persecutions according to your will. Give me the grace to follow your dictates and not my reasoning. Most Holy Spirit, fill me with your promoting, humility, and unwavering faith amid persecutions. My Jesus, I chose to rely on you, not my emotions. Amen.
Lk. 21:5-6. Nov.29:2023. Lord, let me be still and know that you are God.
Mighty Jesus, you warn us of the many hardships that we might go through before your glorious return. You are the Mighty one in battle. You walked upon the sea and calmed the tempest. With you, I shall not fear. When the seas roar and the tempests are high, let me be still and know that you are God. May my trust in you be like Mount Zion that cannot be shaken nor moved. Please, give me the grace to always trust in you. Amen
Lk. 21:1-4. Nov. 27, 2023. My livelihood I offer to you, o Lord my God.
Jesus my Divine Provider, everything I have is a gift from God. How I wish to offer you my whole livelihood, O Lord my God, for you are all I want, all I need on this earthly pilgrimage. I dedicated everything I have to you, Lord. Please receive the offering of my life and use me in accord with your holy will. My Jesus, I trust in you, Amen
Lk. 20: 37-38. Nov. 25, 2923. Lord help me to be alive.
My everliving Father, there is an eternity that you invite all your children to enjoy one day. That new heaven and new earth where your faithful shall enjoy the fullness of your glory; love and joy. Give me the grace to live in preparation for that moment. Help me to live daily as I imagine eternity shall be. My eternal Jesus, I trust in you. Amen.
Lk.19:45-46. Nov. 24, 2023. Help me to share in your mission of purification, Lord.
My sanctifying Jesus, you love to see your Father’s house and all His possessions sanctified. Help me to listen to your preaching and the preaching of the church against evil and be sanctified in my own ways. As you purified the temple may I share in your mission of purification in any Little way you are calling me to. My dearest Jesus, I trust in you. Amen.
A Daily Prayer Journal
Lk.29:43-44. Nov. 23, 2023. When I am sorrowful and angry, Lord do not let me sin.
My agonizing Jesus, you felt holy sorrow up to the point of weeping for the sins of others in Jerusalem. when I am sorrowful and angry, o Lord, help me not to sin but be compassionate. Give me the grace of holy sorrow as that you expressed over Jerusalem, seeing the cruelty and injustice she holds for you. May I be compassionate with myself and others? My Jesus, I trust in you Amen.
Lk.19:12-14. Nov. 22, 2023. Free me from all fear, o Lord.
My demanding Lord, you have bestowed grace upon all your children and you demand that it should be put into good use according to your will. Free me from fear, o Lord, that I may not hesitate to do your will and only your will. Dearest Jesus, I trust in you. Amen
Lk.19:1-3. Nov. 2023. Without you, o Lord, I am poor.
O my God of divine providence, you provide for those who seek you with all their hearts. Riches can’t bring joy unless it comes from you. Like Zacheus, help me let go of earthly things and seek joy and comfort in you who are my all in all. Give me the grace to right the wrongs of my past and sincerely embrace the new life in you. O lord my God, do not pass me by in my struggle to know you more. Jesus I trust in you. Amen.
Mt.25:14-15. Nov. 19, 3023. Let me excel in my calling, o Lord my God
My excellent Father, you entrust your children with gifts equivalent to their abilities or calling. Give me the grace to excel in my calling, dear Lord. In my day-to-day commitment let me do the little I can do in great ways, that your name may be glorified even in insignificant things. My excellent Father, I trust in you. Amen.
Lk.18:6-7. Nov. 18, 2023. I call to you, o Lord and you answer me.
My merciful Jesus, day and night I call to you, o Lord my God and you have never failed to answer. You answer every prayer according to your judgement and will, known or unknown to me. Give me the grace of persistence in prayers, o Lord, for I know you answer every prayer. My dearest Jesus, I trust in you. Amen.
Lk.17:26-27. Nov. 17, 2023. Help me to stay ready, Lord
My always available Jesus, you are always ready for me. Help me to be ready for you too. Though there are many tomorrows, let me not postpone the good I have to do today for tomorrow. Let me be ready always to do your will, choosing heavenly realities over earthly temptations at all moments of my day. May the grace of your salvation be available at every moment of my life. Amen.
Lk.17:20-21. Nov. 16, 2023. Help me percieve your kingdom, Lord.
My Omnipresent Jesus, I give you all the praise, honor, and adoration. You are all-powerful and always present and your kingdom is everywhere. Your kingdom is all around me, in me, and in everything I see, think, feel, and do. Help me dearest Jesus to see and perceive your kingdom more and to be a contributor to its upbuilding. My Jesus, I trust in you. Amen
Lk.17:17-19, Nov. 15, 2023. Lord, I will praise and thank you always.
My God of divine providence, though my praise and thanksgiving add nothing to your greatness, Lord, I want to praise and thank you still all the days of my life. I do not deserve your mercy and grace but you have given me all without reserve. Fill my heart with profound gratitude for your love for me and increase my faith in you. Jesus, I trust in you. Amen
Lk.17:1-2. Nov. 12, 2023. Lead me not on the way of sin, o Lord.
My loving and compassionate Jesus, you have a deep heart of compassion for every sinner and you want me to be like you. Lead me not on the way of sin, dear Lord, and let me not lead others to sin. May I be compassionate as you are compassionate toward sinners, and give me the grace never to lead anyone into further sins. Jesus, I trust in you. Amen
Mt.25:1-2. Nov. 11 2023. Let my five senses give glory to you, o Lord.
My most wonderful Jesus, you desire that your children should be wise in life. Like the five wise virgins, let my five senses give glory to you always and never let me foolish. May my eyes see and appreciate the beauty of your creation in everything and everyone, and may my ears hear and understand the good news of your salvation. May I feel your presence around me always. May I taste the sweetness of your mercy and love. Let me not want to touch and taste only after excessive pleasure, but what brings glory to your holy name. May the oil of charity with my five senses not diminish till the end of time. Amen.
Lk.16:1-3. Nov. 10, 2023
My Divine provider, you have made me a steward of your possessions on earth. All I have is yours, you are the rightful owner, and you want me to take care of it the way you want. I squander your property when I do things the way I want and not according to your will. O Lord, help me to act with great responsibility towards the things you have entrusted to me in my life and not for selfish gains. Help me to make amends, Lord, that I may be able to compile a good account on the last day. Jesus, help me. Amen.
Jn.2:19-21. 9, November, 2023. You have great zeal to sanctify me as part of your body, Lord.
My purifying Jesus, you are full of zeal for your body, the Church. You desire to see it pure. I’m grateful that as part of your body the church, you have a great desire to sanctify me too. I lift my soul and my whole being to you for sanctification, Lord. Give me the grace to respond to your purifying power in my life. Thank you, Jesus, I trust in you. Amen.
Lk.14:25-26. Nov. 8, 2023. Jesus, I hate every act of mine that leads me to sin
My holy Jesus, you desire that your loved ones may reject all they love that are hindrances to their holiness. My Jesus, I hate every act of mine that leads me to sin. Lord, help me to radically say no to whatever is that causes me to sin. Give me the grace I need, o Lord, to resist every temptation and be detached from anything that pulls me away from you. My holy Jesus, I trust in you. Amen
Lk.14:16-18. November 7, 2023. My Lord, let me understand the feast you are inviting me to.
My generous Lord, you invite me to enjoy life with you. You have placed before me the banquet of the Holy Eucharist and prayers, and you love that I should feed to my satisfaction. How I wish I understood this fully, Lord. By your grace help me with the willpower to understand and respond to this loving invitation to your everlasting banquet. My Jesus, I trust in you. Amen
November 6, 2023. Help me serve all lovingly, o Lord
My Dearest Jesus, you teach me generosity, help me to give out loving service to everyone I meet. May I go out of my way to love, to care, to share your mercy and goodness in ways unknown. As you died for all, Lord, help me to include all in my little acts of love. Jesus, I trust in your help. Amen.
Lk.14:8-9. Nov. 5, 2023. Let me elevate and honor others, dear Lord.
My most gracious Jesus, you desire that I should live in humility. By your grace, o lord, help me to grow in a deep love for others. Let me elevate and honor others, and see them happy as dignified children of God. Lord Jesus, help me to be humble in all I do. Amen.
Lk.14:1. November 3rd 2023. I am ready, Lord help me to be consistent.
My Saving Lord, you desire to see your good news spread till the ends of the earth. In my little efforts, o lord, help me to be consistent. Take away my fears and give me courage and boldness in doing your will. Jesus, I trust in you. Amen.
Jn.6:40. November 2nd 2023. Rescue all the souls in Pulgatory, I Lord
Lord, I offer you all the souls in purgatory, especially those of my family and friends. You promised to raise us up on the last day, cleanse them from all their sins, o Lord, and take them into your everlasting presence. Oh, all you Saints of the Lord pray for us and all those in purgatory. Amen
Feast of all Saints. November 1st. Help me to be holy, Lord My glorified Lord, you lived a great life here on earth and you are now in heaven. Your saints lived holy lives here and now they are with you in heaven. Help me to live holy on this earthly pilgrimage that leads to heaven. All you saints of God pray for us. Amen.
